Wole Akinyemi is an Executive Director in the Research and Technology organization at Cummins. He returned to Cummins in June of 2021 to lead a team whose charter is to develop and validate new technology and system solutions for Cummins product from concept phase through the early stages of technology maturation.

 

Between 2007 and 2021, he worked at GE in technology and product development efforts for GE’s locomotive and off-highway vehicles product pipelines first as an individual contributor and then as a people leader. For the first 12 years of his career, Wole worked at Cummins in similar roles in the on-highway engine product space.

Wole trained as a Mechanical Engineer. He obtained his BS in 1989 from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria and his MS and PhD degrees from MIT in 1992 and 1997.
